The A1708's known weak point

These 13-inch MacBook Pros commonly develop battery swelling — the first sign is often a trackpad that clicks poorly or a bottom panel that no longer sits flat. A swollen battery should be replaced promptly; besides poor runtime, it presses on the trackpad and case from inside.

Worth fixing

The A1708 still runs current workloads happily, and a battery is far cheaper than replacing the Mac.
